That said, Literature is an extremely subjective category, just like I have seen 300-page books referred to as "short novels" and "novellas" because of one's subjective opinion of what constitutes a novel. I have seen some people define novel as high literature only so, say, one of George RR Martin's fantasy door stoppers does not qualify, nor would Lord of the Rings, but Dickens would. (Needless to say, novel and novella are two categories I do NOT mind excluding.)
