Magic Marmalade 13th Oct 2023		Cassette Single Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (2023)	Ah... so that's what a "Dua Lipa" is! ...Heard the name about for a while, always thought it was some kind of studio software: "Dual Eepa" (So far out of touch here in the cheap seats - for the longest time I thought an "Ariana Grande" was some kind of new coffee offered at Starbucks... Thank God I never went in there and tried to order one!!! :)

Magic Marmalade 6th May 2023		Cassette Album The Adicts - Live At The Moonlight Club 28.2.82 (1982)	Well that's clear as mud! (Perhaps, I suspect, done on purpose in keeping with the label name) ...I had to look at images on Discodogs for clarification on cat number here, and it turns out that the cat number on the spine is LIVE 001, but gives LIVE 011 as stated cat number inside, as well as LIVE 010 on the cassette itself. What a fantastic little wheeze! (But does show the importance of including as many images as you can for items, so as not to produce duplicate entries here)

Magic Marmalade 10th Nov 2021		Cassette Album Georgia Satellites - Georgia Satellites (1986)	I've placed "Club Edition" in notes here, and removed the existing catalogue number, so you can add the club ed details for this... ...I've also moved your back cover scan (with barcode) over to the standard ed, but I need to know if the remaining scans here can stay, or need to be moved or deleted (in order to be replaced with appropriate scans, if not the same (?) Finally, I have removed the "The" fromt he band's name of both editions, as it does not appear on these items - only given as: "Georgia Satellites". This is however, already a pseudonym of The Georgia Satellites (main page) and so these do appear under that listing. ...I have simply added the link between pages, so Georgia Satellites has a link to The Georgia Satellites.

Magic Marmalade 8th Jun 2021		Cassette Album U2 - The Unforgettable Fire (1984)	Sorry Unique, I may have made a blunder with this one, but I'd appreciate it if you ccould help me out with this one... ...I switched the cat numbers again, as I couldn't see the primary cat number you entered, but in so doing, it appeared in the U2 (US) discography as a duplicate to another cassette you yourself entered. I therefore moved contents (And your "Own") to the other one. ...But looking closely at each, I see they are different items, by virtue of the different sized logo on the cassettes themselves, plus the addition of "SR" on the other, but other than that, I have to say I'm struggling to see what the difference is, and why they needed two cassette releases for the same market of the same date. ...I can only assume the "SR" is the significant factor here? (Or could they both be on the same page as a simple variation of a single issue?) As you own both, could you tell me what's going on with these please? (You may have to re- "own" this - sorry).
Magic Marmalade 6th Jun 2021		Cassette Album Talking Heads - Naked (1988)	After a while you begin to see that simply taking the issuing record companies' word for their own products as authoritative leads to mistakes, as this example proves... they got up to all sorts of shenanigans, mistakes, and foul ups, all of which we want to record and show here. Taking existing tape stock, wrapping it in new clothes, and calling it a new product, for any reason is one their favourites. (It's why discogs has many mistakes in the database as well as us... it's not the contributors, or even either of our sites, and our attempts to apply logic that is at fault, it's just that the items themselves (and the companies issuing) are frequently hodge-podge) - the fact the same oddities appear across separate sites is proof of this fact - ain't us, it's them! :) It's a generally helpful rule of thumb, to work from the inside out when making entries for items, as far as which details take precedence, when discrepancies occur: Record / Tape / etc. first - artwork and packaging after. ...After all the envelope only exists to contain the letter, not the other way round, in the same way that the packaging only exists to contain the tape, not vice versa.

Magic Marmalade 5th Jun 2021		Cassette Album Talking Heads - Naked (1988)	Notice the cat number on the cassette itself here varies from how it is given on artwork... (Odd) ... I've added the variation - on cassette - as "other cat" number, but then looked at how Sire, and indeed the Talking Heads discography presents these numbers in the cat scheme, and so switched the cat umbers around, to make it more consistent with that scheme - cassette number first, then artwork. I wonder why this is? ...Could it be a repackage of existing tape stock? Anyway, if someone has the cassette only, the search here would produce the right result with cassette number first, by my logic, and I reckon you are less likely to find the artwork alone, without cassette.

Magic Marmalade 30th Mar 2021		Cassette Album Dionne Warwick - Greatest Hits Vol 2	Sorry for the delay in response Malcy, but I've had a look at the Ditto releases on site, and see what you mean... ... A bit hit and miss as to whether you'd get a suffix to cat on a handful of releases or not, and anticipating that there may be more variations to be added to those that do have the suffix, of images of copies without, I accept the are the same release, just with a rather "afterthought" addition to cat number... (The "A"s and "B" do look offset, and rather "Tacked on") ...So I'll leave your images on this and the other tape, as part of this entry, and rather than amend the primary catalogue number, I've left this number in each case, as it is, but with the full suffixed number as "Other Catalogue Number". (Assuming that the ones with the suffix were later additions, rather than later removed). But I'm open to any further thoughts on the subject.
Magic Marmalade 28th Mar 2021		Cassette Album Dionne Warwick - Greatest Hits Vol 2	So each of the two Dionne Warwick cassettes you've added images to were available sold together, as a twin pack, albeit not "conjoined"? ... And what you've added are simply the variants of each part? I wonder, therefore, were the parts available separately, as well as together? I ask, because I wonder if this was the case, the double set should be on one page, and each of the separately available parts having each their own entry, giving a total of three entries, with links in notes - "available as a twin pack / sold separately between them? If so, would the additional letters in cat numbers you've added signify the sold separately or post of twin pack version? ... Which is to say, should both of yours be on one page or both of the pre-existing entry images be on one page, and each of yours the individuals?
