Jimmy Shand - Jimmy Shand (1967)
if the separation-by-solidus between the different tunes in a set is kept (side 1, track 6; side 2, track 6, and perhaps better to so separate the components of the set on side 2, track 7 - though the tunes are not named, only their categories - for dance purposes), then surely their composers (or lack of knowledge regarding same) should be separated in like manner?

so composer credits should read:

side 1, track 6: daly / traditional, arranged jimmy shand

side 2, track 6: kennedy, carr / kennedy / samuels, whitcup, powell

and the title of side 2, track 7 probably should read:

march / strathspeys / reels

- as submitted.

(all sfaik being "traditional, arranged jimmy shand", separated identical composer credits would seem over-kill - especially as how many of each is not stated on cassette or card insert.)

Choir Of Westminster Cathedral - Allegri: Miserere. Palestrina • Victoria • Monteverdi • Lotti • Gabrielli • Cavalli (1983)
"exsultate deo" is usually spelled "exultate deo", but i don't know whether this was the italian spelling, the late latin spelling, the mediaeval latin spelling, the vatican's spelling - or a spello.
_anyway_, "sic".

Peggy Ashcroft, Paul Scofield, Members Of The London Sinfonietta, Sir William Walton, Heather Harper, Paul Hamburger - Walton: Façade (1986)
a very peculiar piece, very arresting and very exciting performed live on stage - enthralling, even.
if you ever have a chance to see it performed, jump at it - there's nothing i know quite like it - or anywhere close, really. very much a period piece.

(and it mayn't be by quilter, or anything like his music, but it'd play equally well to the same audiences, presented as an afternoon's or evening's entertainment in a great country house's living-room for family, friends & set similarly to that great quilter half-concert's conceit, valerie.)

01 = side 1;
02 & 03 = side 2, tracks 1 & 2 respectiwiggly.
the listing of the pieces in side 2, track 1 is truncated. the full listing was originally submitted.
Side 1 ends with ... Something lies beyond the scene; valse.

Côr Meibion Aberafan, Port Talbot - With A Voice Of Singing
thejudge: my welsh geography is pretty rudimentary: i will double-check.

well spotted: the combination of ignorance of aberafan's existence with my familiarity with that of aberfan's allowed me to misread the name - multiple times. it should indeed be "aberafan" throughout.

flagged as uk, though its possible the choir might prefer the welsh dragon rouge, upon a ground argent and vert by fesse, argent in chief...

the cassette itself bears neither the album title, the choir name (which includes the ", aberafan, port talbot"), nor the black mountain records cat#, though it does at least carry their name and enough of the address to reach them (and also the "double D dolby" logo).

Muddy Waters - Mississippi
"settin" in track 8's title is as listed, thrice.

bought from the lancaster "our price" record shop during an earlier totally artificial tory-engineered recession, in which (full-priced) record & tape sales collapsed, and the our price, hmv and what was left of the virgin/virgin-ames chains imported a lot of instant remainder cassettes from elsewhere in the then eec, mostly (iirc) - but not only - from italy. some of these looked pretty dubious...

a "double D" (dolby, not double diamond ;-) ) symbol that was originally going to be on the paper insert's spine was incompletely blacked-out before printing. cassette labels also bear the SACD/sacem/sgol/SDRM-in-a-cartouche, all in a line-drawn box logo above the cleo cat##.

the judge: i'm not right, and this is the right place, at the moment - or i am right, & it isn't? :-)

Tanita Tikaram - The Sweet Keeper (1990)
would i be right to guess this is not the place on "tapecatcom" to enter a tanita tikaram vhs cassette - it is of performances, and impressionistic video to go with (some) of the tracks, and (a little) of setting up & knocking down for gigs - ?

(its track listing overlaps with the sweet keeper, and at least some of her earlier albums.)
