I think this one is more straightforward than the worlds we've started so far but hopefully still of interest and useful to you all.

Anyone got Monkees Monthly issue 3?

Excellent!

...never saw it coming [ahem]

As luck would have it I found three issues of a local music mag in my drawer at work last week, so I'll get those added later on!

Is this intended for music magazines.. or should I be lugging the pile of National Geographics at my back up to the scanner?

Edit - answered elsewhere, I now see.

Bloody hell! (in best Peter Cook voice)

A surprise to see this suddenly appear and I think this is probably gonna end up being more of a nostalgia fest than all the other worlds combined. One may not had bought that many mags but one certainly remembers many of the covers so gonna be interesting being reminded of those.

Oh , wish I had not trashed for pulping , British Marvel Comics / Scorcher , Look-In, and one other that had lyrics , I found in a scrap-book some pop pictures so will go back at some time and find what it was called. Have Roy Of the Rovers in a dry shed , to which I have lost the key , and runs of Buses Illustrated and similar ,only 2000 items , my poor scanner will wear out , though for later issues I have retained some of the publisher's scans and promos. Got to iron a few though as folded up or caught in other stuff the pictures are not too good at present.

Wait, I have to scan what now?

I have a load of Record Mirrors which even after they went "tabloid" are still too wide to scan on an A4 scanner. So, I won't even attempt to do them them until I can afford an A3 scanner.

I'm a bit concerned at the idea of a comics world though. I've been getting 2000AD since issue 1, and unless the rodents have got into them there are a few other comics in the loft too (TV21, Valiant, Battle, and some other odds and sods). The trouble is, I know if I dug them out to scan them, I'd end up reading them all. :read:

This world seems a bit under used apart from many of the faces from 45cat , I have emailed a couple of publishers to ask if they wanted to take the opportunity to place up back issues , even with a link of how to purchase. I still have about 2000 magazines to scan , will take nearly forever to complete, maybe longer as summerising the contents is long task for most of them, I can let the contents scans tell the story , but then some things wont be seachable on the net.

I have a similar problem (but slightly more than 2000 waiting). My completist nature doesn't like the idea of uploading without contents info but then I look at the couple of boxes I have in the living room ready to scan...then all the magazines in the spare room...and the ones in mothers old bedroom...aaaaand the attic... :erk:

Mine are in the garage (#1) garage (#2) , mother in laws ( assorted rooms ) , mums (likewise) , storage unit (even more) , my room ( on the shelves stacked horizontally and vertically , under the bed , in the wardrobe ). Might get around to scanning a few more , but I like the old advertisements from the 1950s and 60s.
