| what is a 12"single? |

What's the difference between a single and an EP? Perhaps a description [of exactly what one is] should be included in the GUIDE. I've separated a crate-full of probable candidates but I'd hate to waste time scanning and all the rest of it to find I'm mistaken. ~thanks in advance! |

 | TopPopper Member since Mar 2013 2612 Points | There's no precise definition. If you've identified 12-inch singles for scanning, then they probably are 12-inch singles. If they're on 12-inch vinyl, but aren't albums, they probably fit the bill. Many have two or three tracks on either side, sometimes even more. The difference between a single and EP? EPs usually have two tracks on the A-side, and at least two on the B-side. If in doubt, check the catalogue numbers since EPS usually have different number series to 45s. |
