Can you please link the various incarnations of Ray Conniff together?
Sofar "RC and His orchestra and Chorus seems to be links, but the other Major one is "RC and the Singers". I also have albums to upload that that technically are "The Ray Conniff Singers"
(I'm going theough the shelvrd alphabetically. Unfortunately, when I finish Perry Como I'm looking at a stack of 46 Ray Conniff albums)

When I look at the Ray Conniff discography,
Ray Connifff And The Singers" still doesn't show up, (There's 10 listed under UK releases that don't show)

Thanks

Hi Trainman if you look at the top of the page of the Ray Conniff discography you'll see appearances, that is where "Ray Conniff And The Singers" is as they do not have an album in their own right on the site.

When I look at "artists" and shoose "Ray Conniff And The Singers", it shows 10 records under UK releases. When I click on just "Ray Conniff", NONE of them show up

I just uploaded his first album, The front of the cover says "Ray Conniff". The back of the cover says "Ray Conniff and his orchestra", the label itself says "Ray Conniff and his orchestra and Chorus" so what the heck should one enter it as?

Also, just looking through my 46 albums to enter  it seems to vary from album to album

As an addendum to my last post, His next two albums were "Ray Conniff and his orchestra" which also doesn't appear to link, but that could be because there are no albums entered yet (except I have them in my hand ready to upload)

"Ray Conniff And The singers" is what appears on most of the mid 1960's releases.

I have at least one Columbia Special products release that says "Ray Conniff WITH The Ray Conniff orchestra and chorus"
And at least one Harmony release that says "Ray Conniff, His orchestra and Chorus"
At least one Columbia album that says "Ray Conniff WITH The Ray Conniff Singers"

In the intersts of accuracy I'd like to go with what's on the label, but as you see, there are a number of combinations.

Unless I just let you know on a case by case basis whenever one doesn't show up" (You'll soon get sick of hearing from me).

Enter them as Ray Conniff and put the longer version(s) in the Notes section.

I already entered two, ("S'wonderful" and "S'marvelous" but I will do the rest the way you suggest.
There is still the issue of the 10 "Ray Conniff And The Siongers" UK albums (not mine) that aren't linked.however.

Hi Trainman have now linked RC and the singers, what had happened the one I originally linked had only one N in Conniff. That has now been merged and deleted.

Thank you. I think I'll probably have the US releases of many of those, and it makes it much easier to find them to link releases.
Also, I'm a bit paranoid of making a duplicate entry. (I had a case a month or so ago when another member and I both uploaded the same album at the same time, what are the odds of THAT happening???

Very unlikely I would have thought but it appears it did!

Anyway - not to worry - we can deal with duplicates relatively easily on the rare occasions we get them.
