Ian Matthews and Iain Matthews is the same artist, be uses both names and his records need to be linked and listed under one name.

I was just contemplating that as it happens (as I noted your new additions).
Which is most common?
EDIT: Cancel that, used Ian as the primary version with a link back from the other spelling.

Ian seems top be the most common - I have a few others to post and 2 are for Iain, but most for Ian. KAB2112

One more.
Sammy Davis, Jr.
Sammy Davis Jr. (without the comma, which is the way all his later Reprise albums were billed)

STILL ONE MORE!
Somewhere between their first and second album "Joey Dee And THE Starlighters", became" Joey Dee and HIS [Starlighters"
Also, while both of the above have albums entered, the record labels actually read
:"Joey Dee and the/his Starliters "Edited by Trainman on 8th Sep 2014, 6:50 PM

This one's already been done - the version with the comma is the primary artist variant (i.e. the main discography).

I noticed the Sammy Davis one. As long as they link, I'm entering them the way they appear on the record,
I wonder if the comma is a cultural thing. The only place I've ever seen it used is on the Decca albums. In the US you hardly ever see it in ANYONE's name

We say go with what's on the record - hopefully we can link them all up as variations arise. You are right on the cultural things, the suffix Jr very really appears in UK surnames.

"Percy Faith Strings" needs to be linked to the other Percy Faith incarnations. (The rest seem OK)
