Just tried firing up my scanner again... and the thin coloured stripes (mainly yellow) that had begun to appear on the scans, running the length of the image have now become thick bars of yellow...

Must be dust, as I read somewhere this is causing my lamp to calibrate the white balance wrongly on start up, and carry that difference in contrast all down the page when it scans... so I'm going to have to crack it open and try the recommended fix of sticking a new white piece of paper on the underside of the glass, where the scanner takes the white balance from before setting off.

Now... how to get into the bloody thing!?!

(I know - the window... Look out below!)

Have a look on YouTube, have found many how to fix items in the past, fixed my petrol lawnmower, parts on my car. How to fix scanner?

There was talk on here about stitching images using ICE so I thought I would share this piece of info. I recently bought a new Epson Printer XP-960 to replace my old A3+ WF 7515. The new printer prints A3 but only has an A4 scanner. It did however come bundled with a piece of software called Arcsoft Scan-And-Stitch Deluxe so I put it to the test with an album I had lying next to me and the results were quite amazing(see below) , all in all a great success
