Suggest that sheet music be added as a new world. In the late 19th/early 20th century certain rags, jazz and blues songs in particular were published but not recorded.
I agree that the entire published song should not be shown here, but the elaborate cover art and title would make a nice addition to the site, as it was the primary media for music for quite awhile. I think records (78s) only surpassed sheet music sales sometime in the late 1910s or early 1920s.

It might be OK to show the music and lyrics for things over 70 years old. I'll need to look into it…..
We're working on a music books one behind the scenes.
Other new ones will appear before it though.
I think Classical World will be the next up.
Classical World.. I guess that will include all formats. Mainly Vinyl, Tape Media and CD's, with possibly a different lay out to accomodate composer, conductor, orchestra, soloists, piece of music or opera, etc.... should be interesting/different to what's already going on here.

Yes, we're just testing it out now.
It should be quite different as you say.
A bit of a leap in the dark to be honest.
We were finding that the 45worlds/cat model wasn't exactly perfect for entering classical releases so rather than overcomplicate or shoehorn them in we decided a world of their own will solve the puzzle.

The problem with classical world is deciding what to go in. As if you take out all the classical type releases from 78RPM world that is lot of what has already been added and no longer would all 78 releases be in one place unless you double entered.

Yes, the plan isn't to remove classical items from the other worlds.
Instead they would be duplicated with classical world having a model which makes it easier for a classical buff to search by composer, soloist etc. and generally go into things in a bit more depth.
Redpunk is welecome to have my (already entered bar 6 unreadable ) classical 78s. (free collection-sorry I cannot contribute to any petrol! costs) Of course cross-linking to the 33/EP repressings will be useful.
Somewhere I have access to a large number of brass band journals- full scores and parts, will take an additonal life time to enter, meantime my vocal series (4 part choir/male voice) front covers could I add to Magazine World ? They are not strictly magazines the way they have been defined - not registered as newspapers - but would fit easily the format by way of note- although recording the content as described above would be an additional list entry.
