Early US Columbia Single Sided Disc

	78awp01 Member since Apr 2014 52 Points	Before I add this to the main site, I wonder if anyone could help me date this early 7" single-sided 78? Columbia Disc Record Columbia Phonoghaph Co No 1579 Hiawatha (Moret) sung by J.W. Myers This Site suggests it's from 1903. Any help would be welcomed by this total novice, Tony

	fixbutte Member since Jan 2013 1483 Points Moderator	These records were obviously all issued as cylinders too, see www.78discography Though J.W. Myers' Hiawatha (cylinder 32289, disc 1579) was apparently recorded in (late) 1903, it may have been released in (early) 1904. See also Popular American Recording Pioneers: 1895-1925 with the info (p. 53) that Columbia 1351 came out mid-1903.
