hi all, all my 45's and albums play perfectly without fault, but i just bought an album (nazareth - greatest hits) and it seems to be skipping all the way through both sides. the record its self is spotless and doesn't have any scratches or scuff's.
i haven't a clue what is wrong, i have cleaned it to check if that was the problem, i even checked the record under a UV light and it seemed in almost perfect condition.

Not sure of the technical wording, but is the needle head a bit light, can you adjust the weight, if not a 5p or 10p coin on the head might solve the problem.

Loud music (at the recording stage) and thin vinyl can cause this. The grooves can't go deep enough to hold the moving stylus.
Oddly enough, I find this true also on some 78s. My Dot (pressing by Quality in Canada) of Dark Moon by Bonnie Guitar skips like crazy. The US pressing doesn't. Other Canadian 78 pressings of the same record do -- as I have had 3 copies over the years
hi all, sorry for the late reply, i've been very busy lately. i tried adding a little weight by puting a 10p on the needle head and it just carried on skipping.
