Is it possible to provide a method of using an existing listing as a basis for a new listing?

I'm thinking in particular where an LP, which is full of information and titles and songwriters etc., exists with an alternative catalogue number. It seems like a waste of time to have to bang in all the same information when all you want to change is the catalogue number and to provide new images.

This has been asked about before, and I'm afraid the answer is that it isn't possible.

The only thing I can suggest (and this is what I've been doing) is open the 'Add (whatever)' screen in a new browser window (not a new tab) and copy and paste across.

Thanks for the definitive answer TJ, that's what I needed. Perhaps something to consider for the future though...

There was once ebay software that allowed you to prepare listings in such a way and it was a useful timesaving device.

As Judge said this has been discussed before especially over at 45cat and one of the reasons for not pursuing the matter was to ensure accuracy, i.e. to make an entry you should ideally have the record/cd/etc. in front of you and you input directly from the item label.

It is of course possible to do so by opening 2 browser windows and ALT Tab between them copying and pasting text.

I'm all for accuracy. But we risk losing input by devoted inputters who simply find it frustrating that they have to repeat a long process just to change one small detail for another issue. I count myself in this. If there are changes to be made they can be done at the editing point, or even, at worst, as a correction.

I'm currently trying to develop this facility for mods since they can edit most things easily - if I can get it working, you'll be able to add a LP/CD/Tape album details and then put in a mod request for the tracks from an LP/CD/Tape to be copied to it, with any corrections and/or track differences.

If you are using chrome and have two or more similar items to enter, using the back button retains most of the information (apart from artist and label ), which can be useful at times.

Hi

I have an Alice Copper CD Easy Action on Enigma Retro. Two other CDs are listed but not this one. Is there anyway to copy and then edit an existing listing yet?

No, that feature is not available at the moment.

It would be a useful feature, yes.
