Hi James.

Thanks for adding to the site. I've had to make a few changes to the record you added, to bring it in line with the site's style.

One of them was altering the label name to just "MGM", which I think is right, judging by the rest of the 78s listed on the same label.

As to why it's hard to find, I would tend to think there's not much interest in the singer. There's a copy on Ebay, where it's included in a set of 11 records - $50 for the lot, so that's an average of less than $5 per disc.

Often old 78s aren't worth much money, but are still interesting and good things to have.

Post-World War Two pop records like your MGM record were sold by the millions and so many are still around in the United States that they are worth around $.50 or even less, depending on condition. On ebay, of course, all kinds of people try to sell even very common records for fantasy prices.

Interesting 78 MGM 30030 gets an advance notification in Billboard 25 Oct 1947 I think 1947 is just before 45s were released as contempory alternative formats so think it is 45 only, but some sides may appear on LPs of the Film Scores, but have not made it to free to listen websites. Billboard gives a good, positive review in 8 Nov 1947 The Kiss in Yout Eyes /Emporer Waltz Tracks appears on what Billboard refered to as MGM 33 (E-109) as a single 10in album (did they mean 12in?) Llauritz Melchior Recital Album reviewed 24 November 1951
