Or is it ?
It was not till I got home, that I noticed that one of the 78's I had bought in a Vide Grenier - had on one side 75Trs and on the other 74Trs , being somewhat new to this maybe tis me who is weird !
Record description : Selmer Label - Jazz - American series 'V' or 'Y' 7152 - Part 9487
( made in France).
Pierre Braslavsky and his band : 'Royal Garden Blues' (Trs 74) one side and 'I can't give you anything but love' ( Trs 75) on the other!
Question is what are the measures on the speed adjuster on a 1930 H.M.V. 101 Auto
Please or is the difference to small to bother with ?
Best

Are you sure these are speed indicators? I'd guess 74Trs and 75Trs are the matrix numbers. Without seeing the record, of course, it's difficult to say for sure.
Thanks, having read up on 78 Matrix Nos and finding more in the run off area - we have as on Label -Trs 75 Part 9490 and also M3-125379 (stamped on) and PB7 I can't give( in handwriting).
Otherside Part M3-125378 ( stamped on) and TRS 74 also BPB6 14/4/50 RGB ( in handwriting).
I assume that info was scratched (or written in cursive) into the original wax. The 14/4/50 looks like the date the original Braslawsky session took place, except it should be 14/1/50 (i.e., Braslawsky's January 14, 1950 recording session in London).
The matrix numbers must be TRS 74 and TRS 75. The TRS stands for Tempo Record Society, the British collectors' label that reissued lots of older jazz records (e.g., Jelly Roll Morton), but also some new recordings in the Dixieland style.
