| Random Records - What's happening?? |

 | Lee Wrecker If you can't dig me, you can't dig nothin' Member since Nov 2013 2282 Points | Hi OC and Admins, Have you instituted a new ego stroking algorithm on the random records section of the vinyl albums page? It's normally quite a rare sight to see one of my albums pop up there from time to time but today it's been a bonanza. Every time I go back to the albums main page there are at least two of my uploaded albums on view and in one case there were five. This is a little unusual but is it just coincidence or has something been doctored in the background? If it is coincidence I'm going to by a ticket in the lottery because today is my lucky day. |

 | Jasper Just keep on rolling with the flow Member since Jan 2015 594 Points | I noticed the same thing with tape world - my added tapes turned up in the random selections often until a couple of months ago then suddenly 90% were my additions then suddenly none - I never see my added tapes in random anymore. Definitely not a coincidence. |

I see the same, sometimes Argentina or Austria slips in, but otherwise all Australia. The same is true for Vinyl Albums homepage, other Worlds unaffected. Edited by Graham7 on 1st Jan 2018, 7:33 PM |

Not that I mind I like to see who else owns them but in my case it's usually just me due to my extremely poor taste no doubt. |

| Orbiting Cat Member since Jan 2008 1181 Points Administrator | There was a bug whereby random records wasn't showing random records, which is the complete opposite of what it is supposed to do. It's now fixed. It is slightly biased towards records which might be "interesting". However it is and always has been fixed for the whole website every day, so all members and non-members see the same selection of items. |

| Graham7 Member since Apr 2012 6406 Points Moderator | Random Images seem to be completely gone on Live Music world. Very few items (0 -3) showing on Tape Media, Magazines, DVD & Blu-ray, and Books. Other Worlds all look fine. @Lee Wrecker, sorry you lost your time in the spotlight, I had enjoyed playing a little game of "Spot Lee's LPs". This involved clicking one of the 9 Random (mostly Australian at the time) images on the homepage to check who added the image, and am pleased to report that I usually got 10/10. Helps of course that I like a lot of what you like, and your scans are so good. |
