Not the answer, but saving scan in Greyscale ??
I see you're jumping between threads too
You're right about it (photography) not being the answer but it's not too much hassle for now. Like I said, an A3 scanner is what I need when I have the cash.
I'll give the greyscale solution a try when I have a mo and get back to you
I have two printer scanners both Epson. The WF 7515 gives the effect you mention. If I scan using my PX 720WD @ 1200 DPI with backlight correction on, it gets rid of the problem
Thanks for that, I''ll give it a go. Mine's an Epson too. model V370 photo
When you click your scanner icon and get the scanner window open. Click on the Image adjustment and make sure all the values are set to zero. There is one slider there that may be of some help and that's the Saturation slider. Worth a go

OK, it's worth a try. I'll let you know how it turns out

I've been scanning so I tried the suggestions re Rainbow effect
Kitchen greaseproof/baking film was too opaque and rduced the clarity of the scan
A clear PVC disc sleeve gave no useful change, but a protector sleeve made of part-transparent film completely cut the rainbow while slighty reducing the clarity
Here is an image of a 'Cyclone CD/DVD Protector' from a pack of 60

Morning Mr Jules,
First things first, How do I add images to these posts?
I've tried using inset webpage tab for the pics I uloaded to imgur but it only showed the url link. I've also tried the insert image tab but again, it wants a url? Can I add images that are on my pc/mac?
Next, CD images. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm afraid the quality has to crystal clear and I can get that with my digital camera. But, pictures must be taken using a lightbox and no flash otherwise you have the same problem as a scanned image
I have to get this right as I have thousands of images to capture and until I get a new scanner, my camera is providing the best images even though it's a longer route and I accept, it's not the best option.

That's right, in Worlds you can only show images from the site, ditto for 45cat. Unlike in Cat, here we can also display images from external sources in the forums.
I have put my Skuller images on the CD entry page, but the sleeve pack is on an external website. I have not yet explored how Worlds Forums resizes external images.
45cat images have to be entered here as an external URL

I have an Epson V37 plus access to V370 and cannot get rid of the rainbow effect.
I also have a Canon MX410 printer which has the scanner facilities and get better results with minimal rainbow effect.
