Hi. I'm looking for an LP I had around 1980. It was 'Twas the Night Before Christmas told from the perspective of a mouse. When the narrator says "not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse," the mouse says, "wait a minute! I'm a mouse. I was there and I saw the whole thing." It's a double sided story and I don't believe it has a companion book. I haven't found it so far on this site. I have searched for it for years with no luck. Would you be able to help? Thank you. -Kim
Thanks for trying. It's similar, but in the record you posted about, the mouse doesn't interrupt after, "...not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
Hmm... This is sounding like the Rankin-Bass production of Twas The Night Before Christmas.. It was a Christmas cartoon shown here in the U.S...and a certain cable network still shows it.. but the cartoon and the main character was voiced by George Gobel.. it was originally aired on CBS in 1974. Should be easy to track down from there..
Ok.. from what I've been able to gather.. Rankin/Bass Presents 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.. Buena Vista/Disneyland 1367 released 1976 in mono on 12 inch 33 1/3 rpm LP. This is the complete story and original soundtrack from the 1974 animated Christmas TV special. LP times are.. Side 1, 12:07. Side 2, 11:40. Voice actors are.. Joel Grey, George Gobel, Tammy Grimes, John McGiver, Bob McFadden, Allen Swift, and Pat Bright. I've seen the animated special many, many times over the years, and what I've read is that the LP was basically a dub of the soundtrack, with the exception of the LP starting with the overture instead of the "cold start" of the film.
