Just a post to say that we’re currently working on a way to deal properly with credits that are in non-Roman/Latin script.
For a variety of reasons English is the predominant language used on the websites but we obviously want to find a good way of keeping non-English speakers catered for.
We do expect that you would find the films of Kurosawa searching either ‘Akira Kurosawa’ or ‘黒澤明’ or likewise ‘Andrei Tarkovsky’ or ‘Андрей Тарковский’
We hope to soon provide the instruction and the tools to enable us to solve this in a good way but for now if all director or actor credits could be entered in Roman/Latin alphabet then that would be great.
Please Note this doesn't mean that non English titles cannot be added only that we don't use Kanji (漢字) or Cyrillic (example = хлеб) and alike for 'people' credits.
The second cast member, Малкольм Макдауэлл as Тимофеев / Юровский, is in fact, Malcolm McDowell. Shouldn't he be credited on this site with his English name (even if it means adding the, I think, superfluous as Малкольм Макдауэлл after the character name). In its current form, the film does not appear on McDowell's filmography page as it should, and I don't think having a separate entry for that name aka is needed given that it's very likely the only time he was credited that way.
I've linked the Russian version of the name as a pseudonym to Malcolm MacDowell and left a note at the header for Малкольм Макдауэлл, "Main filmography at Malcom MacDowell."
