I'm looking at selling a beautiful set of Elvis Sun Records 78 RPM shellac not the vinyl reproductions in original sleeves and case. They were purchased in Lubbock Texas in the mid-fifties at Don's Record Rack. They were purchased by a friend of mine when she was a young teenager who is now a 78 year old school teacher. She still owns the albums 60 something years later and my question being what would be the best way to go about selling these records as well as an approximate value? Would it be smarter to hold on to them a while due to it being such a buyer's market and the economy being in turmoil right now? Any information I could get I sure would appreciate. Thank you in advance...

Popsike will give you an idea of what they have sold for in recent years. You could search with more details such as the cat # to get a better idea of individual values.
Important is the condition, top dollar is normally only paid for those that are in the best condition.
Thank you for the reply and they are absolutely gorgeous. Still in the original case in the original sleeves and haven't been played since the fifties when she purchased them new. I am amazed every time I look at them. I have not played them and at the sake of sounding like a wimp it's because I'm afraid to. My worst nightmare would be the needle skipping across one of them and besides that I don't have a record player anymore and wouldn't know which one to use with What needle. These are definitely for display as long as I have them. I bet you they would sound awesome though because they're just in fantastic shape.
Update on these original Sun record Elvis Presley recordings in 78 RPM. I had stated that these came with the original case and have found out later that this is not true. The case that she kept them in is from the 50s but I thought incorrectly that all five were put out at the same time and since found out that they were instead put out individually. Big mistake on my part but I'm learning and didn't want it to sound like I was being untruthful.

Nonetheless, if these are original Sun pressings in good condition they could still be worth quite a bit as a set. Elvis' Suns were issued over the course of about a year and a half. The only time they all came out at once was when RCA Victor repressed them in late 1955 after signing Elvis and put them out to replace the Sun issues, but of course they'd be on RCA then.
