Hi, having some not so good results when uploading pics with mainly red or colours close to this, also not so good with other bright colours, the text 'bleeds' and becomes fuzzy. Anyone maybe have tips what I can do with the scans before uploading so this is at least reduced? Examples of the 'bleeding':
https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/nc127215nl inner pannels of the digisleeve
https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/dncd1472 disc
https://www.45worlds.com/cdsingle/cd/8683842 disc. Had added sleeve pics for that too which I asked to be removed and have been since, those were even more unclear. Think the more intense the colour, the worse it gets

It's worth remembering that many of the images you add are viewed at a smaller size than the original you upload. So for example you've uploaded https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/dncd1472 as around 1600x16000. The display in the images list is around 200 by 200, or 800 by 800 when you click it. No software can reduce the size perfectly without problems so perhaps if you re-upload at a smaller size you may get better visible results. I've added a test image (800x800) of your Karin Bloemen disc which definitely looks a bit sharper on my monitor in the entry. What do you think? But I think your images are perfectly acceptable!

Thanks, the one you added definitely looks better. Will try to reduce the size and see if that works, though have found that it sometimes also causes some bleeding on text as well.
Would rescan them but these are all in boxes for the moment and really hate scanning. It takes way too long to get them just right doing multiple scans of the same parts and then choosing which matches the real thing best. Those with a lot of colours are a p.i.t.a. because often some colours are just right and the rest not quite. Bright yellow text tends to fade to beige with colour backgrounds. Not to mention several types of fluorescent colours that just won't scan even close to what they really are.

As I said, I think your images are perfectly OK - way better than many we see - and they have been accepted by other moderators as OK - and we vet every image uploaded by newer members!
You don't have to rescan if you aren't happy. All I did on the test image was to take your original image and reduce its size to 50% using the free paint.net program for Windows (for tutorials see here - and there are lots more things you can do that aren't in the tutorials). So you could go to the 'Edit Images' link at the bottom of an entry and change the size, although I don't think that's really necessary. It might be better to have a play with paint.net (try the Adjustments/Curves menu item to reduce the colour intensity a bit?) until you get an image you are happier with.

Thanks for the tip. Have download the paint program, it is a more advanced version of the type of programs I was working with, trying the different options. Looking promising so far. It's a shame you only can see if it worked once uploaded here as no preview option, might be a bit of hit and miss with some of them.
The "red problem" is commonly seen. Red doesn't encode very well when compressed in the JPG format. It's a technical problem which can't really be solved, as we use an open-source JPG library.

it just pains me to see them like that when I spent so much time getting the scans just right. I can try some things but I would only know if it worked once uploaded, and that might take a few or more tries and would mean more requests for deleting pics and more work for the mods.
Talking of which... how long can requested image and release edits take so I know when to check back on them? Also wondering how I can know for sure the Make Correction requests have been understood correctly? Got a comment on one so far with a question and that one now has the full track list, but there are several others that don't yet and not sure if my comments when submitting those were understood.

It depends at the moment due to the increased activity the DVD correction queue is the longest if needed a Mod. will get in touch if the request is unclear.

Corrections can happen immediately or can take a week or longer. It just depends on whether a mod is currently processing the queue for that world, and whether moderators need to consider if the request should be accepted. If a request could not be understood then probably a mod would send a PM asking you to resubmit.
