I've asked about this before in a mod permissions thread so if you've read that. then skip this 'cos it's the same request!
Surely those of us who've been on the site for a few years AND have a proven track record of reliable uploads, can be allowed to make corrections without having to be made a moderator? I'm glad to say the mods are quick to fix things when I do ask, but I still don't like having to ask them to do fixes that are essentially trivial. My last mistake was simply missing a closing ) at the end of a track title. Do we really need a mod to fix that? I love the site and apologise to the mods that have to fix my mistakes

I can understand where you are coming from, unfortunately I do not think there is a simple way around this other than double checking what you have done before adding.
It a part of being a mod to rectify these mistakes, but admin may have an option that may be added to members. In the meantime double check your work.

Thanks for the reply, I do proof read my additions but the odd one still gets through and I always only seem to notice it after I've already uploaded....and where's me shocked emoji gone? lol

It's true that things are working and in a timely fashion too.
I didn't read the orbiting cat reply so thanks for posting it. Something that would definitely work for me
This is from Admin: Orbiting Cat's response in another thread.
"We hope in the future to implement a time-limited edit capability for members when they add an item."
So hope are up
But it works nicely as it is. (only frustrating)
Moderators doing a great job.
Thanx
That would be fantastic. I try to be as accurate as possible, but I'll often notice - after I've entered an item - an error and I hate having to send a correction request in immediately after uploading something. Being given a chance to edit/correct, even briefly, would be a very helpful tool and take pressure off the moderators. I know the ability to correct posts is something Twitter users have been asking for for years.

With this in mind, could there be a Make Correction link added to the Live Music section, for correcting Venue name and / or addresses? I have been going through some old Melody Makers and notice quite often that a venue's name has been entered incorrectly or that it doesn't have a full location address. There are also some venues listed that have two entries, for instance: https://www.45worlds.com/live/venue/camden-underworld https://www.45worlds.com/live/venue/underworld-camden
Other sections of 45worlds have the Make Correction link so why not Venues?

I wonder if a preview page might be helpful?
Immediately after submitting, a presentation of what the finished page would look like is shown, for you to review, and perhaps spot things that might be overlooked on the current submission page... so that if anything needs to be altered, you can simply go back and change it until you're happy, and can hit "Confirm".

Back in March 2020 on the Mod PERMISSIONS thread I made the following suggestion
Recently I have been listing on Ebay and the 'Preview' feature I have found to be invaluable. Maybe something like that here would help because it's not until you see the final entry as it would be seen, that you realise what you should or should not have done.

This is the option I'd go for. I know allowing people to edit existing entries might lead to edit wars, but I think all most of us are asking for is just the ability to "head off" issues before they are submitted. I've had a couple of cases where auto-correct has changed something without me noticing. This wasn't my indexed item, but there's a book that was accidentally entered with the publication year of 204 instead of (presumably) 2004. Whoever entered that might have been able to catch it on a confirm screen (and, yes, I submitted a correction when I saw it). Certainly this type of feature is well-used on Wikipedia and similar sites and much as people have wanted the ability to edit tweets, a confirm post feature on Twitter would be very valuable. Fortunately we don't need such a thing for Forum or Comment posts here because, ironically, we are allowed to edit those.
