66 entries with the composer name Rudolph Toombs
only 2 with the composer names Rudolph, Toombs / I have looked at both of them and concluded they must be typos.

I would agree, however the one album that shows label and cover has it as
“Rudolph/Toombs”, so has been added showing what is on the record not knowing that it’s a misprint. I would edit it, but will leave it to those in charge.

I just checked and with the Mercury LP by Tom & Jerry, there are no credits on the label and on the sleeve it credits Rudolph Toombs. The problem with having errors in the credits is that it allows people (in error) to choose the same songwriter since it appears in the drop-downs.
I've left the Rudolph, Toombs for the only one which has it as such.

I think that's a much better idea. But some people cling to the idea of putting errors up in the listing. I think errors are fine if they're mentioned in notes but I'm not asserting to have the right to make such a decision on my own. It would make sense though, since it'll avoid people being drawn to making the same mistake from the drop-down?

When entering a songwriter, there is NO drop-down menu. So same “mistakes” are repeated over and over. Either we let go of what’s on label (or sleeve) or we accept a multitude of different songwriters for the same song: Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart; R. Rodgers, L. Hart; Rodgers, Hart; Rogers, Hart; Hart, Rodgers; etcetera, etcetera

It's completely understandable why we should type the errors into their proper boxes. But, a note should be made, on that page, that the error exists, and that it should be... etc.
