Does anyone know the detail of how the numbering works for Swing Music series?

It seems in general that the numbers are incremented irrespective of release year.
However, I have examples of the same numbers being used in different years, e.g.

Swing Music 1942 Series - No. 527 / 528
https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/b9291

Swing Music 1943 Series - No. 527 / 528
https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/b9334

The numbering obviously doesn't go back to zero each year, so is this just an error?
I'd be interested to understand more.

You had me wondering too! It turns out to be a 'clerical error'. Numbers 499 to 532 were duplicated at the beginning of the 1943 series. See the image of page 20 of the 1944 Swing Music booklet.
