The wonderfully photogenic Ms. Robins was not prolific in her recordings having interests in other media but this recording might be a casualty of wrong title syndrome...The song "My Daddy" was recorded a multiplicity of times in the early 40's but as yet this has escaped all of us....I guess it could be another title and that the book listing is spurious but I will ask one final time if this is familiar to anybody.....

As per the usual sources, F1703 was recorded 1 March 1940, released May 1940 and deleted March 1942.

I've checked the annual catalogues from June 1940 to June 1943 and there is no listing for Carroll Gibbons with this number, and no listing of this track title (I tried various title permutations) by any artist.
However, the September 1939 catalogue was published in two parts and it may have been a early casualty of the 1940 catalogue merger.

I've since realised that the Columbia 1940/1 (June 1940) catalogue lists 'Dance Records' separately (~17 pages) without an entry under the main artist name. This section is by title/number only with no indication of the other side, so takes a bit of time to find the flip sides.
'Turn On The Old Music Box' is FB 2396 (typo in Whyperion's number ) and the flip side is 'Little Wooden Head'. The artist credit is Caroll Gibbons and The Savoy Orpheans.
Its also in the June 1941 catalogue, but gone by the June 1942 catalogue.

Going back to the tune "My Daddy" , am I right in presuming this is from the Pinocchio Film and sung by Pinocchio (wasn't he voiced by a female artist ?) (Pinocchio is a film and I book I absolutely have always tried to avoid - at least in the detail - I have a 7in 33 disney book disc that a well meaning family member must have purchased for me but really I would be happy to shove it in the vomit bin. Sorry Disney, I might be able to appreciate your creativity and musicality of hired writers but I find little enjoyable

The Parlophone listing implies that 'My Daddy' wasn't in the Pinocchio film but composed by Box, Cox, and Pelosi who are a British composer trio.
'Turn On The Old Music Box' was composed by Washington and Harline, and I saw while searching on the net (see here) that there is no vocal line on the film, as it was deleted, only the melody.
But 'Little Wooden Head' on the flip side of FB-2396 is also from Pinocchio and composed by Washington and Harline
