Still living big band musicians?

	SeverlyWarpedRecord Member since Oct 2020 210 Points	I saw in this article yesterday that Ray Anthony is still alive. That kinda makes me wonder how many other pre-rock jazz/big band swing musicians are still alive? I know Tony Bennett and Marjorie Hughes (singer in Frankie Carles band) are, but I can’t think of any others… Now I’m just wondering if any of them would sign some of my old 78s lol

	Whyperion SUBS Too Many Records , Too Little Time Member since Jan 2013 306 Points	Problem is in some ways the Big Band era continued into the 1970s etc if you include Syd Lawerence for example, thought I could not name soloists or other members of it. If we restrict it to members / performers whom had a 78 release is not that many now , given last releases were UK just about 60 years ago. I forget who was leading the last Ted Heath Orchestra performance I went to , but Jack Parnell was still on drums but he died a few years back. (even Jack's son Ric (spinal tap) died this year at age of 70)
