I’ve suggested he look for that one too. Will keep you posted. Probably seeing him again in a month when he can loan me anything he finds.

Many many thanks

Great news for you Mike. My contact has all of the Turner Layton records on your list. He says “According to my list most are in condition '2' ( good but not Mint) and a couple are in condition '4' ( worn and scratched)- l have never found any better copies, such is their scarcity.”

I should be able to borrow them from him in about a month. I will then get them digitised.

Well he seems to collect Layton & Johnstone, including solo recordings, and has probably been doing so for years. Perhaps in the days when record fairs with 78s were a regular occurrence.

Another contact of mine can transfer 78s. I will aim to send you them as WAV files if that’s okay. I also plan to do “My Sister and I” by the RAF DO. I think I would like to keep the 78 although someone here was meant to be providing it for you?

Yes.....This was one that was promised but it never happened.....I have reminded the collector a couple of times but I have given up on that with him I'm afraid....If you could do a transfer that would be very good......Down to 23 on my Wants list now with the Turner Layton ones taken off

I’ll get that RAF 78 transferred for you. Hopefully I’ll be able to scan the record labels too.

That’s good, and I did check for Dolly Elsie already in the other thread… the British Library might have that one so you could try emailing them.
