Following a further reminder of Bob Dylan's 'no mobiles at gigs' policy, being someone who rarely attends concerts nor owns a smartphone (Dinosaur!) I wondered what this means to 45 Folk out there.
I can understand the point of attending a gig is for enjoyment and watching it through a held up mobile phone is not quite the same. But having attendees surrender their phones and placed in a locked box beforehand and collected afterwards, is that the answer? It's often important that gigs are documented, but by whom?
Apparently Damon Albarn has voiced opposition to Mr Zimmerman, but perhaps the artist should have the final say.
What are your thoughts..?

Yes, definitely the artist should have the final say, IMO.. it's their performance after all. No-one should take it for granted that buying a ticket gives then an right to film / record it, especially if the artist doesn't want them to. Makes sense, surely?
