I have a copy of Band On The Run that is a contract press(unknown) I'm thinking Monarch with a * in the runoff area. This record came in a cover that replaced the Apple on the bottom left with Capitol image on back of cover. All the Apple language is still there on the label so my question is do I scan the labels of the Band On The Run cooy I have on Apple page. It is weird that an apple label would come in a cover with Capitol image on back.

Without actually having the opportunity to examine your copy, I'd think that the * factory mark indicates a Capitol-Los Angeles pressing. A Monarch pressing *should* have the MR inside a circle mark on both sides, and side 2 with a '-X' suffix to the 5-digit number as on side 1.
