Given that in the UK record sales charts only really became 'official' in 1952 - and even for a time after that AIUI combined sales of recordings and sheet music - then it would cover only a handful of years of 78 production. |

True. However, I do have a list of every song to have entered the UK sheet music charts going back as far as (from memory) 1939, up to sometime in the mid-1960s. The list includes the names of the artists, label and catalogue number for the recordings that made the song popular at the time. Just thought I'd mention it... |

And when I tried to post this in the Labels forum, I got a 400 Error - Bad Request twice in a row. |
