Wont be long before he's put up nearly a thousand entries. What does a thousand 78's look like (or even weigh)????

Too much temptation for a geek: 500lbs in old money in early 1930s Parlophones, so around 225Kg in Eurospeak.

No, of course not. 78s went from about 1900 to 1960, so 1930 is the average. Since I'm not metric, my scales only do pounds and ounces. A £ is the Parlophone trademark, and a 1930 Parlophone (without bag) weighs 8oz or half a £. As I'm so good at maffs, I just divided 1000 by 2 to get the answer.
