'On London Bridge' by Jo Stafford (1957) was with the Paul Weston Orchestra, but I do not know who did the backing vocals. Unfortunately YouTube won't play it for copyright reasons but the backing vocals are typical of the pop records of that time

There were a few more 'Johnny' titles that I know of but can't find on YouTube:

Clare Nelson - Johnny Come Kiss Me (1957)
Sandy Stewart - Johnny Darling (1955) is Sandy a man or woman? - with The Excels And Lou Stein's Quintet
Barbara Lyon - Johnny Is The Boy For Me (1956)

As a point of interest, Jo Stafford's On London Bridge was conducted by Ray Conniff (despite label info) and he used the same sound as Don Cherry's Band of Gold from a year earlier. It was probably the Ray Conniff chorus doing the ba- ba- ba- babas accompanied by his famous "chop" sound heard on many Columbia records of the 50s - notably Johnnie Ray.

Perhaps we are looking for a red Columbia 78.

The song you are looking for is "Johnny" by the Dots, 1957 on the CADDY label. I was searching for this for years also. Found it in a book "Who sang our songs" by Douglas E. Friedman and Anthony J. Gribin.

Here's a youtube link of The Dots, featuring Jeanette Baker, on "Johnny":

Since it came out in 1957, it probably wasn't even released on 78rpm.
