I notice that there are 14 12" records credited to "The KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution". This is an error.
There was only ever two (2) releases by "The KLF (featuring The Children of the Revolution) - note the brackets! - and that was "What Time Is Love (live at Trancentral) matrix number KLF 004X and "3am Eternal (live at the SSL) - matrix number KLF 005X.
You can find it here...

All other 12" listed as "The KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution" on 12" Worlds are an error and are already listed simply under "The KLF". Their labels show this clearly. "The Children of The Revolution" featured only on KLF 004X and KLF 005X and no others. I have a fairly complete collection which I will be uploading to your 12" worlds... time consuming .. but great fun!
Please amend your database or if anyone has any of these other dozen records I'd love to see them...

Hi Lanark
Welcome to the site and thanks for the heads-up.
I've fixed this so that "The KLF" shows all records (as the band's "master" discography), but the "The KLF (featuring The Children of the Revolution)" does not.
Would you say that The KLF discography also needs to include The Justified Ancients Of Mu-mu? We have one release credited to them - is there any discernible difference between them and the KLF (other than the name)?

Yeah big difference. The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu released a pile of 12" between 1987 and 1988. They were released on the label KLF Communications "The Sound of Mu(sic)". Their matrix numbers began with Jams 23T and ran until number Jams 27T. I'll upload those in due course.
I suppose the main difference is that the "band" (Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond) called themselves The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu for those releases and the matrix numbers reflect that. And with proper credit to them as artists that is what they should be called. After all it is The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu as the artists/ band named on the label.
After Jams 27T they began to call "the band " The KLF. There is one "crossover" 12" which was released in 3 versions and that is "Burn The Bastards" also released as "Burn The Beat". This was released as
The KLF (Burn The Beat) at 120bpm matrix number Jams 26T
The KLF Burn The Beat matrix number KLF 002T (Other Data "This is a transition record")
The JAMS AKA The Timelords Burn The Beat on TVT4041
This release really points to the change in the name of the "band" and various sources date this transition late 1987 to early 1988. Indeed the "Other data" on the label of KLF 002T states "This is a transition record".
The duo did return as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu later in 1991 with "It's Grim Up North" and that release returned to the Jams prefix in matrix numbers (Jams 028R) rather than a KLF matrix code.
To put it simply... the name of the band on the label is what they should be called on here. The record label is KLF Communications so there should be a clear link... whatever moniker Bill and Jimmy were using at the time!

Great stuff, thanks.
The Justified Ancients remains a separate artist then but with a link to it from the KLF discog (their records won't show in the KLF discography itself). That seems to be pretty much correct based on your info.
