Hi,
As a newbie to 12" singles what is the protocol regarding sourcing info' from other sites.
I have a Debbie Malone white label and the only info' on it is a small sticker with basic info' on it- name, cat #, record label and title of track. On another site I found info' giving full listings of all tracks and release date.
Is it acceptable to use this even though it is not physically on my copy?
Regards.
I have no objection in principle if there is little or no information actually printed on the label, to source writers, producers etc. from other places.
It could also just be added into the comments.
I would prefer the "add to notes" option, and wait for the right person to come along and ad the full-credited stock version. Then a link will nicely tie things together?
I'd just put it in the notes when it comes to writers and producers. I think this info should just be presented as per the record label - the reason being, there is considerable inconsistency in the credits to many recordings, depending which issue you are looking at. If you put the label credits as stated, then corrections in notes, I think that's better, personally.

Yes, sorry, for producer and writer credits you should only enter what's on the label (or sleeve, as appropriate).
Release dates and titles however you could source elsewhere (in the case of release dates this is commonplace for obvious reasons).
