Will there be a facility to link the various formats with each other?
For example:
This:
http://www.45cat.com/record/cre067
with this:
http://www.45worlds.com/cdsingle/cd/crescd067

Or would that be best done in the comments section?

Each 'world' has it's own database so they can't be linked using BBCode but you can link by URL (as you've done)

This can be made as a comment and moderators can add to notes where applicable.

Example with links to two 7" releases

Where a release has a CD1 and CD2 version, should these be linked?

That would be fine in 99% of cases I think.

Thought so. I linked two Depeche Mode CDs last night but then started to doubt myself. I agree it makes sense to do so, as they are literal variations on the same release I suppose.

I think that's the only example I have at the moment anyway.

Something just went horribly wrong! :erk:

I copied the link for the latest Rolling Stones entry of Sticky fingers (featured in todays top 50), then added it as a link to the other releases. This wiped out all the other linked releases for the one I added it to!!!

So my link overwrote the previous links.

Help!!!

Also, another point here:

I was linking Johnny Cash albums in vinyl world, and there is a double album comprised of both At San Quentin, and Folsom Prison albums, but don't want to attempt linking either album's releases to this in case it muddles the two albums, and all their respective releases together.

There are many other instances of this for other artists... what should be done in such circumstances?

(My apologies for messing up that Stones entry) :embarrassed:

Tags. maybe?

Stones problem. One needs to know the original primary release and link to that.

If you can recall a couple of the items that were linked, link them togther, this restores the old links, then have a go again with your entry

Or Make Correction entry note and a mod has better database tools to link.

Why is it possible that I can use the BBCode from any entry here on 45worlds and paste it as a link into an entry on 45cat, but I cannot do the reverse?

I've seen links disappear many times. Refreshing the page usually makes them reappear.
