Based upon the 2003 film of the same title, Anger Management was commissioned as a vehicle for Charlie Sheen following Sheen's high-profile resignation from the sitcom Two and a Half Men.

In an unusual decision (something rarely seen since the infamous 1970s Canadian sitcom The Trouble with Tracy) a higher-than-usual number of episodes were produced over two seasons in order to "fast track" the series to the 100-episode benchmark usually considered necessary for healthy syndication of a sitcom. As a result, Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes and was considered a tryout; Season 2 subsequently consisted of 90 episodes that aired weekly without significant hiatus from January 2013 to December 2014, with several episodes also airing on Fox.

One episode was promoted but withdrawn before broadcast due to the firing of co-star Selma Blair and to date has never aired or been released on DVD.

23skidoo 9th Sep 2015		This show must have used soap opera-like production methods to get 90 episodes done during that second season. Wow. I wonder if any of the scripts were remakes of something else. When CTV made The Trouble with Tracy under similar circumstances (130 episodes in one season) they managed by basically just performing old radio scripts from the 1930s with the names changed.
