Notes

The theatrical film Batman was shot during production of the first season, making this one of the few TV shows to have a canonical movie released during its run on television.

Adam West and Burt Ward later reprised the roles of Batman and Robin numerous times for animated TV series based on the characters and appeared in live-action in the 1979 comedy miniseries The Legends of the Superheroes.

Although not a spin-off, The Green Hornet was set in the same fictional universe and the two shows crossed over. There was also an attempt at spinning off Batgirl but she was instead made a regular character in the main series.

The 2003 TV movie Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt recreated the filming of the series.

R.I.P.Adam West,I will miss you so much and I do remember you did the Batman voice again with Burt Ward as Robin alongside with Batmite and Batgirl in the animation series entitled The New Adventures of Batman in 1977 and distributed by Filmation Productions, and used to be screened on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings by the BBC.

I always thought Robin Williams would have made a cracking Penguin, but sadly we'll never know).

Loved this show and very happy to see it finally on Blu-ray after decades of rights issues kept it off home video except for the movie.

For the cast list I only included the villains most associated with the show. Of course there were dozens more and it's worth acknowledging Eartha Kitt who was the second Catwoman on TV, taking over the part when Newmar was unavailable. (Lee Meriwether also played Catwoman, but only in the movie, so she doesn't count for this TV show listing). Also, John Astin played The Riddler in one set of episodes when Gorshin wasn't available.
