Notes

The initial concept of what became Chico and the Man was a sitcom featuring the popular 1970s comedy duo Cheech and Chong.

Freddie Prinze committed suicide on Jan. 28, 1977, forcing the series to reformat itself and introduce a new character to replace Prinze, but the title of the series remained unchanged.

23skidoo 5th Jul 2015		I remember the night they announced that Prinze had killed himself. I was only about 7 or 8 at the time and it was the first time I'd actually encountered the death of someone I knew from watching on TV. It was very sad, as Prinze was headed for super stardom thanks to this series.
