Notes

Anthology series that ran for 4 seasons. One of the first series of its kind to be produced in colour, though only black and white copies survive and many episodes are lost. The series was broadcast live.

The third episode of the first season adapted Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel Casino Royale, starring Barry Nelson as an Americanized version of Bond. It was the first screen adaptation of a Bond story, predating the first Sean Connery film by 8 years. Fortunately, it is one of the handful of Climax! episodes to survive.

The James Bond episode is widely available on DVD and elsewhere. It is definitely a very different version of 007 than we're used to, though Peter Lorre was a great villain who would have done well in a proper Bond movie.
