Originally broadcast in two separate runs with differing formats (though both still feature McGoohan playing a spy named John Drake). The first series aired 1960-62 and was briefly broadcast as Danger Man in the US. The second series aired 1964-1967 and was broadcast in the US as Secret Agent. The fourth season consisted of only two episodes (as McGoohan cancelled production in order to make The Prisoner). The two episodes (the only two produced in color) aired separately in the UK, and in the US as the TV movie Koroshi.
There is differing opinion (even among production members) as to whether the later series The Prisoner is a continuation of Danger Man.

| | @mikewn - I disagree. Danger Man in all the reference books I have was a single series that first aired for one season, then resumed production in 1964 for 2 more full seasons and part of a third. Although the format changed, it is still the same series with the same production team. They are the same series titled Danger Man. IMDb has it wrong as evidenced by it listing the US title for the later seasons. |

| | The link above to the IMDB page for Danger Man series page shows air dates for this series at the top as 1960-1961. There's been a "Secret Agent" alias for this 45worlds series entry that's been added earlier, that I think should be removed. A separate TV series that I think is the real spinoff of Danger Man ("Secret Agent") should be added. Though they appear to be linked together as the Megaset DVD collection titled "Secret Agent Aka / Danger Man" would indicate, it would appear that IMDB has divided them in to two separate series pages, the first "Danger Man" page being the one linked to on this page, but the separate subsequent "Secret Agent" series which shows a date range of 1964-1967 is at this link here:
Secret Agent series with IMDB # "/tt0058846"
IMDB appears to not have a lot of these episodes ordered properly as the air dates are not in order and they don't reflect the ordering of the DVD content in the Megaset I will be adding shortly. I think I will add a separate "Secret Agent [1964]" TV series title for the subsequent series in IMDB to avoid name clsash unless someone wants to remove that alias there. I think the series notes should link these series that appear to be two subsequent series of the same storied characters. |

| | @Potter. That's because Girl Who Was Death was in fact an unused Danger Man script and they just kept the name in. It was most likely meant to be the same character, though as far as we know Benjamin's character in the very first episode of The Prisoner is meant to be a different man! I actually read somewhere that the two No. 2's played by Colin Gordon in A,B & C and The General may have also been intended to be different men! The Prisoner is anything but unambiguous! |

| | Agreed they are entirely different programmes. It's interesting to note Christopher Benjamin's character Potter appeared in Danger Man, "Koroshi" and The Prisoner, "The Girl Who Was Death" however! |

| | @Zabadak. Fans have been debating this for 47 years. Officially it is not a spin-off because Ralph Smart, the creator of Danger Man, never received credit, which he would have had to if it was a spin-off. The Prisoner was created by McGoohan and George Markstein. McGoohan was adamant that No. 6 was not Drake, while Markstein was adamant that he was. Making matters worse, a couple of the officially-licensed spin-off novels published while the show was on the air identified the character explicitly as Drake! |
