First crime/action series to feature a female lead character and the first to focus on a female police officer. Notable for breaking the fourth wall at the end of every episode as Casey remarks to the audience about the case just concluded. This is one of a number of 1950s-era American series for which all episodes reside in the public domain.

I discovered the show on DVD a few years back because the entire series is in public domain so there are a bunch of cheap DVD releases out there. This show is notable for being the very first TV series focusing on a female police officer. It was restricted by some of the cultural restrictions of the day (I don't think she ever was shown holding a gun, for example) but it was well written and acted with as I recall a gimmick where Casey would break the fourth wall at the end of the episode and talk to the audience. A number of well-known actors made early appearances in this show, such as Larry Hagman.
