Notes

Remake of the iconic series of the 1950s and 1960s. During the first season the format more or less emulated that of the original. For the second season, the series was retitled L.A. Dragnet, O'Neill's role was reduced and the series became more of a standard ensemble police procedural.

23skidoo 21st Mar 2016		Textbook case of trying to fix something that wasn't broken. The first season felt like an updating of the original show but for whatever reason, probably ratings, the network decided the old format wasn't working so the second season turned the whole thing into a CSI clone which crashed and burned pretty quickly, I recall. Someone also thought adding "L.A." to the title might also attract people who couldn't figure out the location on their own.
