Followed by six made-for-TV movies that aired in 1978 and 1979.

A spin-off of Adam-12 (which is in turn a spin-off of Dragnet 1967). Oddly, although characters from Adam-12 appeared in early episodes, a later episode showed the Emergency characters watching an episode of Adam-12 on TV. Series spun-off from Emergency were the animated series Emergency+4 and Sierra.

The series entered syndication while still airing first-run episode; the syndicated version was retitled Emergency One! for a time to avoid confusion.

23skidoo 1st Sep 2015		The casting on this was rather interesting, as two of the leads - Julie London and Bobby Troup - were not actually known as actors. London was a very popular singer in the 1950s (though she did do movies dating back to the mid-1940s), while Troup is best remembered for writing the song "Route 66" ("Get your kicks on Route 66..."). But it gets even more interesting: at the time Emergency was made, London was married to Troup. Her ex-husband was the show's creator and producer, Jack Webb!
