Adults-only SF series produced for Cinemax featuring the iconic softcore character created by Emmanuelle Arsan and popularized in a series of films in the 1970s and 1980s. This Americanized version recasts her in a sci-fi scenario where her "expertise" is called upon by a group of aliens seeking knowledge about human mating habits.

Broadcast as 7 feature-length episodes that IMDb and other sources treat as standalone movies. At the time of its release it was reported that a commercial-TV-friendly edited version of the series was also being created for syndication, but there is no indication such a version ever actually circulated to TV stations.

On-screen title is simply "Emmanuelle" (with the episode title as subtitle).

23skidoo 27th Aug 2015		I remember this was a bit of a cause celebre back in 94 because of the fact there was serious talk of a syndicated TV version circulating. Unless the episodes were completely refilmed - or ran 10 minutes each - I don't see how they could have possibly ever have syndicated this show. Allen went on to bigger and better things like Baywatch and The X-Files, and this show could be seen as the template for later adults-only sci-fi/fantasy/thriller cable shows like Forbidden Science and Femme Fatales. (If anyone has ever actually encountered this show in syndication on regular commercial TV, I'd be interested in hearing it!)
