Followed in 1980 by a theatrical film, The Nude Bomb (also known as The Return of Maxwell Smart), with Adams the only major original cast member returning. Adams and Feldon both returned for the 1989 TV movie Get Smart, Again! and for a short-lived Get Smart revival series in 1995. A theatrical remake with Steve Carrell as Max and Anne Hathaway as 99 (and a cameo by Bernie Kopell) was released in 2008.

99's real name is never revealed in the series, even after she and Max marry. Nor is it even revealed in the 1995 revival by which time 99 was a politician. Nor is The Chief's full name ever revealed.
