Notes

Prime-time spin-off of the Saturday morning series The Red Hand Gang, and preceded by the 1979 TV movie A Christmas for Boomer. This series followed the adventures of a stray dog and was similar to The Littlest Hobo, a Canadian series that originated in the 1960s but had relaunched in 1979, as well as some formats of Lassie. It also tied in with the popularity of the Benji film series of the day.

The series had no ongoing cast members other than the dog, whose real name was Johnny.
