Mockumentary series pretending to be a long-lost Canadian current affairs series from the mid-1960s hosted by small-c conservative Jimmy MacDonald. The series utilized actual archival footage from the CBC News archives to make it appear as if MacDonald was hosting a series looking at then-current events, with the host becoming increasingly unhinged as the episodes progress and Canadian life moves away from MacDonald's old-fashioned values.

23skidoo 25th Jun 2015		Discovered this show on DVD when I found a copy in a remainder bin for $5. Best $5 I've ever spent. A lot of the humor is lost on non-Canadians, but I loved the way this show spoofed - yet at the same time fairly accurately portrayed - the types of public affairs programming that filled the airwaves in Canada well into the 1970s. Along the way they managed to sneak in a subplot suggesting Jimmy and his "women's segment" host Marg were having an affair. All of this leading up to MacDonald going insane on the air, as discussed in the first episode, and disappearing. This show was notable for featuring then-Prime Minister Paul Martin and then-Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson, plus other well-known Canadians, giving faux testimonials about MacDonald.
