Produced in Canada under the shorter title Nikita, but first broadcast in the US under the title La Femme Nikita, which is also the title used for subsequent US and Canadian DVD release.

Based upon the 1990 French film Nikita (also known as La Femme Nikita) and the 1993 American remake Point of No Return. Another interpretation of the 1990 film (incorporating elements of the 1997-2001 series, including a guest appearance by Alberta Watson), once again titled Nikita, aired in the US from 2010 to 2013, with some media referring to it as a direct remake of the Canadian series.

A notable difference between the TV series and the films is that in the films Nikita actually is guilty of the crime that leads her to be recruited, whereas in the TV series she is actually innocent. Another unusual aspect of the series is lead actress Peta Wilson was allowed to use her natural Australian accent in the role.

23skidoo 14th Aug 2015		I've been unable to track down the Canadian "Nikita" title screen for this. I used to have a lot of episodes on VHS but they're long gone!
