TV Series
Notes Dramatic anthology series hosted by the Hollywood actress, who also appeared in many episodes playing different characters (she was the how's only regular). Eight seasons were produced, making it one of the longest-running anthology series of the early TV era. Originally broadcast as Letter to Loretta; midway through the first season, the title was changed to The Loretta Young Show. Episodes were rerun between 1960 and 1964 under the title The Loretta Young Theatre. Some syndicated versions (as well as the 1960-64 rebroadcasts) edit out Young's introductions; this was reportedly at Young's request, even though it means she is absent from episodes in which she does not perform a character.
