After Louise Lasser left the series in 1977, the series was retitled Forever Fernwood. Some online sources like IMDb treat them as separate series.

Spinoff: Fernwood 2 Night, a parody of talk shows that aired as a summer replacement for Mary Hartman; it later had its own spin-off, America 2-Night.
