Notes

The original Match Game (initially titled The Match Game) aired from 1962 to 1969 and was a straightforward "fill in the blanks" challenge hosted by Gene Rayburn. In 1973, the series was revived (as Match Game 73, with the numeric changing each year until 79 after which the practice was retired, while a nighttime syndicated version aired as Match Game PM). Rayburn again hosted but this time the series focused on sometimes risque questions and the interactions of the celebrity panel that included several regulars.

After the series was cancelled in 1982 it was briefly revived in the 1983-84 season as a segment of The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour (with Rayburn hosting the segment and acting as a panelist for the Hollywood Squares segment). (Note: this is considered a separate series from Match Game and is not included in this listing.) Later versions of Match Game aired in 1990-1991 and 1998-1999. A version was also incorporated into the 2006 CBS game show "miniseries" titled Gameshow Marathon.

Numerous international versions were also broadcast, often retitled Blankety Blank or Blankety Blanks. A Canadian version titled Match Game debuted in 2012.

The long-running Family Feud game show franchise was created in order to give Richard Dawson his own show based on his popularity as a regular panelist on Match Game.

A revival of the show, featuring the original music but now hosted by Alec Baldwin, debuted in 2016.

A revival of the show has just debuted on ABC with Alec Baldwin as host. It uses the original music, same general format (except in an hour-long version), etc. Should we take the 1999 end date off this as we've done with some other revival series? EDIT (May 4, 2017): since the revival is continuing into 2017 I've added host Alec Baldwin to the cast and have asked for the end date to be remove.
